Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy addresses personal difficulties. It provides the client a space to talk openly and confidentially about their concerns and feelings with a trained professional. Psychotherapy involves the formation of a therapeutic relationship, communicating, creating genuine dialogue and working to overcome problematic thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
The goal of Psychotherapy is to bring about change in ones life - to optimise psychological well-being. Psychotherapy also helps the client discover how to respond to challenging situations with healthy coping strategies.
There are many types of Psychotherapy orientations. My philosophical orientation is influenced by the integrative humanistic approach. This framework places emphasis on the unique presentation of each client. As such the approach to each client is tailored to the presenting challenges and client's functioning at the time.
Common concerns addressed by Psychotherapy:
Psychotherapeutic services are available to children (6 years and older), adolescents, adults, couples, groups and families. Short term and long term Psychotherapeutic Interventions are available.
